About us

GLDA is an acronym for Global Leadership Development Association, a youth-focused not-for-profit organization that seeks to empower youths between the ages of 18-30 years, and youth-led organizations in Africa; to activate and develop their leadership abilities, and maximize their potentials. GLDA builds future African leaders through effective leadership programmes that empowers and inspires change. Our leadership programmes empowers youths to become proactive and to make informed decisions in both personal and public lives.

Our philosophy is premised on our conviction that every man from creation was born for a purpose, and until that purpose is discovered, man would not find inner peace and fulfillment. What ever the purpose of a man, true meaning to life and happiness comes when he is aware of the fact that fulfillment comes from lighting the candles of others to see the way. We perceive man as an unlimited 'god' with the power to accomplish beyond human comprehension, but he can only do so if he is in tuned with his inner-self, accepts his divine call, and has the COURAGE and WILL to surmount all obstacles on his path to greatness through his inner power.

Through our leadership programmes, we commit to helping youths activate the power of their inner-self, to ignore the limitations of the physical and overcome their greatest challenge.

MISSION

To provide a platform that will facilitate youth leadership development, committed to a life of service to humanity, learning, excellence, self actualization and fulfillment. We are committed to inspire, motivate and mentor the next generation of African leaders.

VISION

We envision an African Continent characterized by visionary young leaders who are proactive and act sustainably for the good of humanity.

OUR WORK

We engage youths across Africa who are between the ages of 18-30years, that demonstrate a high level of commitment, and are passionate about change, in various leadership development programmes, providing them with mentors that guide them throughout the process.

We inspire and empower youths through a coordinated progressive series of activities, learning opportunities, and experiences that will empower them to become socially, morally, emotionally, physically and cognitively competent to lead  their lives and communities.
 Our leadership programmes are uniquely designed to help each individual grow at his own pace. With the aid of a Personal Growth Plan (PGP), youths on our programmes develop functional skills that empowers them to achieve their dreams, become proactive and visionary leaders.

We move from creating self awareness, to inspiring young leaders to a greater level of commitment to take Action.
 

OUR TEAM

GLDA has a four member Board of Trustees, and six members working at its office secretariat. We have seven members on the organizations Board of Directors and a  list of volunteers.
