CURRICULUM
Within You is the Power curriculum is uniquely
designed to help youths develop in three principal organizing themes of
Self-realization, Character building, Skill and Competency.
At the end of this leadership programme, a trainee is expected to have
the ability to lead effectively and efficiently in both personal and
public life.
The curriculum is divided into Four Modules, and designed to span for a
period of four months. All modules are interrelated to provide a
coordinated progressive growth, self awareness and empowerment that will
activate the leadership potentials of the trainee.
While on the programme, trainees would be required to read a total of
15 Books, answer a set of questions, and perform a self
assessment test. Our training lay particular emphasis on participatory
leadership as an essential tool in youth leadership development process
at all levels. Trainees would also be required to carry out a series of
practical assignments, field works and researches.
MODULE ONE
This module forms the
foundation of our leadership training programme, this module helps
trainees in the area of self awareness and realization, to identify
their strengths, and potentials. Trainees will read 4
books in all that will inspire
them to a higher level of reasoning, enkindle the fire of love and
happiness and empower them to overcome challenges and be in control of
your mind. This module gets trainees emotionally competent to lead, and
will last for 40 days.

MODULE TWO
This module builds
trainees functional skills, and activate leadership in them. The module
encompasses both personal and social skills that include goal setting,
time management, communication skill, and develop self confidence
amongst others. This Module helps trainees to become cognitively
competent to lead; and particularly help them in achieving their
Personal Growth Plan (PGP). In this module trainees would be required to
study a total of 7books
within a period of 62 days.

MODULE THREE.
In this module, trainees
will study the principles and styles of leadership, and also develop an
understanding of the qualities of a leader. Trainees would be required
to conduct researches and study the biographies of any Five leaders from
a list of World Leaders, two of such leaders must come from Africa.

Trainees would also study the state of our world (Global Issues) with
particular reference to Africa and their immediate community in any two
of the following thematic areas (a)
Poverty (b) Illiteracy (c)
HIV/Aids (d) Crises across the globe (e) Child labor (f) Corruption (g)
Gender inequality and (h) Leadership.
This module raises trainees level of consciousness to the issues faced
by the world today, and also ignites their passion to take action. Here,
you would be required to conduct series of researches and reach your own
conclusions. You are at liberty to include any other issue not listed
that you have interest in. While exploring the state of our world,
trainees are encouraged to start thinking on how they can take action
and act locally. This module will run for 31 days.
MODULE FOUR.
This module guides
trainees through the process of achieving results and influencing social
change. Trainees will be guided in the process of implementing a
community development project. The books in this module takes trainees
through the process of setting up a team and a step-by-step process of
developing and implementing a community project. Trainees need not
submit any assessment for this module but it is strongly advised that in
carrying out a sustainable project these books must be taken seriously.
Upon completion of the programme, trainees will
be issued with a certificate; we encourage trainees to go ahead and
carry out a community development Project.
